CM Yogi Adityanath: Action Began Immediately After SIT Report : 8 Arrested in Ayodhya Case
Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath has said that the Uttar Pradesh government acted promptly after receiving the report of a Special Investigation Team probing the recent Ayodhya controversy, leading to the arrest of eight accused.
Referring to his visit to Ayodhya on June 19, the Chief Minister said, “Ayodhya is a symbol of our unity and the unity of India’s Sanatan Dharma. Do not cast aspersions on Ayodhya; learn to follow the dignity of Lord Ram.”
Adityanath noted that the government had already announced the formation of an SIT when the controversy emerged and had assured that action would follow once the investigation was completed. “As soon as the SIT report came, action began,” he said.
According to the Chief Minister, the investigation resulted in the arrest of eight individuals allegedly connected to the case. He reiterated that the state government would not tolerate any attempt to disturb communal harmony or tarnish the image of Ayodhya.
Police officials said the investigation remains ongoing, and further legal action will be taken based on evidence gathered during the probe. Authorities have appealed to the public to maintain peace and refrain from spreading unverified information as the case progresses.
